TECHNIQUE STUDY 001
original andy warhol To the left is a Warhol original. I'm sorry that I can not remember the title, but I do know that it is a silkscreen. Below you will find images inspired by this piece that I acheived using various technigues in Paint Shop Pro 7. I will warn you that I am no good at tutorials, so bare with me and try to keep up.

Cheers,

Okay, so how did I acheive the final result? Assuming you know your way around PSP7 or a similar program, below is a list of fairly simple to follow steps...

1. I brightened the original image until the background was no longer visible and there was only whiteness behind the woman.
2. New layer - Color was added with a softened, lowered opacity brush. Blend modes were played with until I got the look I wanted. Note: you may want to create several layers over the original, perhaps one for each color used.
3. New layer - Next I used the thresh hold filter over the original image to produce a black and white, rough lined image. The thresh hold image was layered over the existing layers using the soft light blend mode.
4. New layer - Finally I layered a copy of the original image over everything and set the blend to soft light again.

The finished product can be seen above along side the original. Below are variations created in other Warhol like styles.
