So It's Been About a Month

How are all of you? I don't have much to post here right now, but I thought those of you who read Panthea deserved a little explanation.

Lately my attention has been very home centered. I haven't given my brain over to thinking about anything relating to my spirituality or the Goddess lately. This is all due to some dramatic events that went on in my life that I am still trying to get through.

I apologize to my readers and I will try hard to mentally recover soon so that normal-ness can resume here at Panthea. I am not gone, just on a little break. I guess you could say that I am not capable of finding a happy medium just yet. I tend to give my all to something and right now my focus needs to be with my husband and my daughter.

Thanks to all of you that still swing by every now and again and leave a comment for me. I read them and appreciate them.

Much Love, Grian

The Not So FAQs

What does Panthea mean?

Panthea is a Greek term meaning All-Goddess.
As the personification of the "complete female", Isis was called "The One Who Is All", Isis Panthea ("Isis the All Goddess"), and the "Lady of Ten Thousand Names".

What's with all your names?

My name is Lisa but many of my friends call me Lee. I go by LM Hutchings as an artist and use my Priestess name of Grian on Panthea when I write about my experiences on the Priestess path and with the Goddess.

Grian means Sun in Irish and is short for Meanlaegrian - a completely literal Irish translation of Midday Sun which is a name that was given to me by Cherokee ancestors when I was 15. My heritage is almost completely Celtic, with the exception of the bit of Native American blood. Quite honestly, Ireland feels like the home of my heart so I decided to use the literal translation years ago. (It should properly read Grian Meanlae which I have also used.)

Return of Panthea

Yes, I'm back online and my computer is functioning better than it did before. Thank goodness my mother is geek enough, though I did help just a little bit. She has successfully re-formatted the entire system and she even managed to save all of my files. Yay!

I am currently working on a few things - articles, podcasts (eventually), and maybe even a domain name for the site. I am still getting used to being able to be online and will have to get my newsfeed and blog reading routine going again.

I just want to thank those of you that have stuck with me and added some comments during my little hiatus. It really meant a lot to me.

So, look forward to blogging as usual to begin back here at Panthea.

Not Geek Enough

I am having severe computer problems which is the reason for the lack of posts. I will be back and running as soon as humanly possible. I am not sure just how I am going to do that yet, but I'm working on it. In the meantime, those of you who may have super powers with computers may have an answer for me. Here is the summed up issue: bad_pool_caller blue screen with Windows XP. Won't boot in safe mode, debugging mode, or last known configuration. Argh! I've even tried reinstalling the OS without success. I may have to bite the bullet and call the Geek Squad. Anyway, here's hoping my computer gets fixed soon. Thanks for your patience.

Blackbirds and Dolls

the goddess danuWith the change of season I felt the need to change Panthea's design.

I've been watching the crows and other blackbirds lately, scavenging along the damp ground and sifting through the fallen leaves with their beaks. In the cemetary in the next town over there must be thousands of them visiting with the dead and guiding souls to the otherworld. It really is a site. So, this is my autumn design; a mixture of blackbirds, blue sky, and a little sunshine. Oh, and those lyrics up top belong to the Beatles, but I bet most of you already knew that.

I've got some new posts in the works. I'm sure your sick of me saying that, but I really do. I've even comtemplated trying my hand at podcasting. It sounds like so much fun. Anyway, check back often. I'm certainly not on vacation - just collecting myself and trying my best to get through this semester, raise my daughter, tend to my home, and run a growing Circle.

I'd love to get some painting done soon as well, but that doesn't seem possible just yet. On the other hand I have been able to find a little bit of time to make some of my Goddess dolls. See the picture at top. These are fun and with the research I do in making them, I get to learn too.

Reconstruction

So I've taken this place up again and decided to reorganize some things, delete others, and continue with my own journey through this page. Right now it is in a state of construction. Please bare with me as I reorder everything and republish what I consider worthy.
