Project D.U.

So for some reason I was reading Wil Wheaton's blog tonight and I saw this add for a blog reader. I was intrigued and decided to check it out. What I found was pretty cool. It's a fully customizable blog feed reader. Now I can put all my favorite artist blogs in one place and see if there are any new pieces for me to ooo and ahh over. If you feel like playing around and you have a few minutes to kill go check it out by clicking the title of this post. Oh and you can syndicate this site with Project D.U. by adding this url - https://1greeneye.net/atom.xml
Kind of cool I think, but I'm a dork.

Freedom3's Sunday Sonnet Project

What's this all about?
Sunday Sonnet is meme. Go here to find out what that means. Every Sunday a new line of poetry will appear on this page. It may be one word or an entire phrase. Whatever it is let it inspire you to write a poem that is all your own. The line provided is for inspiration purposes only and does not have to be found anywhere in your completed work. So, get inspired, write a poem, post it to your blog, and have fun. If you don't have a weblog you can always use the Freedom3 Poetry Forum.

If you particpate on a regular basis please send me an email so I can list your site. lmhutchings[at]rochester.rr.com

Me Anti-Social?

I was thinking lately... that I may be anti-social in a way. I have absolutely no friends on the net. I see people talking about their 'dear friends' on the net all the time and actually participating in an online community of sorts. I know people, but I don't talk to them on a regular basis and I'm sure none of them would call me a friend. I'm either a loser or anti-social. Or maybe I'm just a bitch. I love you guys though - whoever you are. So maybe I should get some friends. Or I can just sit back and be content as an anti-social loser. See you next time dear friends.

Another Image

Yet another piece of artwork inspired by Marta's Challenge at Emblem Yourself :: http://emblemed.unopened-letter.org/. Her challenges are amazing just like Marta herself. Check it out! Pictures come for the challenge and all brushes and textures are mine.

I really dig this one. I think it's a little different than some of my usual stuff. What can I say? I'm trying to evolve. But I hope you can still see my style in there too. Let me know what you think. Feedback is my drug of choice.

Barney Update

He seems to be doing fine though he is on what the call the 'bland' diet. This basically consists of rice and bits of meat. There has been no puking since he went to the vet, so I think we should be out of the woods. The vet, on the other hand, told me that he needs to return for more x-rays since the last one didn't look totally normal. He's acting fine and finally sleeping at night again... so I am not overly worried. Thanks for all you thoughts and concerns guys. I really appreciate it.

Things To Do Before I Die

1. Travel to Ireland, England, and Scotland.
2. See U2 in concert.
3. Have my own gallery show.
4. Become fluent in another language.
5. Watch my daughter grow into a beautiful woman.
6. Stay married.
7. Take care of my family.
8. Give as much as I can to those who need it more.
9. Figure out some answers to my questions.
10. Adpot lots of cats.

So I'll be a biligual, well-traveled, humanitarian, shown artist with a happy family and tons of cats. Wow, I'm the scary old cat lady. But a nice one.

New Art: Died Easy

One new piece of art done for a challenge at Emblem Yourself. Pics used come from the challenge and all textures and brushes are mine. Lyrics from the Wallflowers track One Headlight. I've always loved that song. Anyway see it by click the title of this post or the little square below.

Sick as A Dog

I never really thought about what that phrase meant before until four days ago when my dog started throwing up everything that went into his stomach. It's a pretty disgusting site to see undigested, unchewed dog food come flying from the mouth of a little beagle. He can't even keep water down. It comes back looking like egg whites. I know, gross.

Needless to say Barney is at the vet right now getting some liquids through an IV and being fed a large meal with a dose of some vomit-causing medicine. They also talked about giving him some radioactive stuff to make the foreign objects in his body stand out better on the x-ray. There seems to be something large lodged in his stomach. It could be any number of things since he chews and swallows just about anything he can get his little paws on. The vet said she pulled pieces of a sweatshirt, zipper and all from a dog last week.

I know he will be alright, but I am nervous anyway.

Have you ever just been bored to death by the net? It's so frustrating to get some time away from everyday bs to play around only to find nothing to do but bitch about there being nothing to do.

This is probably going to sound a bit odd, but I have been quilting lately. Actually, I am almost finished with my first quilt ever. Now, you might be asking yourself why I would choose such a hobbie as this one to spend my time doing. I know it seems these things are mostly for grandmothers, but hear me out. I have wondered upon something called art quilting and fell in love with it. I can not say I am ready to start creating complex designs like those found at http://pamelart2.homestead.com/quiltythings.html but I am hoping to hone my skills and see what happens someday. Basically, these modern quilts are masterpieces. They resemble paintings and even have elements of abstract detail that I like to add to my digital collages. I think they are simply amazing. I just have this urge to do anything creative... any medium is fine with me so long as I can acheive the results I want. So, I'm not ready to be a granny yet.

1greeneye.net Turns Three

Yup, this site is officially three years old this month. I almost forgot about it. Wow... where did the time go? Anyway... yes there is another new layout. I'm insane, I know. I like this a bit better. As the about page says:

THIS VERSION
Features - a green haired Natalie Portman. Maybe she had an accident with some chlorinated water and blonde hair dye... anyway - it's simple, clean, and easy to navigate - just like I like my men.

I've also been thinking of trying to turn this place into a proper blog, but I'm not sure how I feel about airing dirty laundry and letting the world know what kind of a fuck up I can be. What do you guys think? I mean, I have things to say and whatever... but I'm not sure I want to tell everybody - you know? I tried it a few times and eventually read old posts and thought to myself "you're a retard!" and took them down. Oh well. I'll give it some thought and hopefully some of you have some experiences or opinions to share.

New Art

I added three new pieces. Two of them are things I was just playing around with due to my new obsession with the Gilmore Girls and a story I have been trying to write for years. The third is for a fab challenge at Melissa's Rural Art. The pictures were just so cool that I had to play around with them for a while. I like the finished result enough to set it as my wallpaper for now. Oh, and big surprise - I am already sick to death of this layout. *grin* Okay, so not that big of a surprise... at least not to me. If I had the time the layouts around here would change like undies.

New Year : New Layout

I kind of dig the new look, but I usually do for the first few days... anyway Happy New Year everyone. How are things? The Holidays were cool, but I have to admit that I am a bit relieved to have them over. No more worrying about how I'm going to pay for one more gift.

Hmm... well I got some nice things: a sewing machine, books, cds, clothes, new socks (without holes! yay!), and my Buffy collection is now complete. That's really cool. What about you guys? Anything good to share?
